Learning about Learning
Student’s classroom experience of learning matters. How do teacher educators (TEs) and teacher candidates (TCs) understand the student’s experience? How do TCs and TEs make it an engaging experience in which students are not only learning conceptual tools, but also tools of agency and self-determination? They study learning. This project features tools for studying learning developed by TEs and researchers who were seeking new ways to help TCs co-author their own tools for studying teaching-learning. How TEs present ideas and theories of learning to TCs matters because the cultural tools teachers choose for the day-to-day practices of studying and measuring learning exert a powerful influence on students’ experience of learning (Biesta, 2015).
